Something of a crate digger here. Fabulous value 21 Year Old from Gordon & Macphail. From a secret distillery, this 21 year old was matured in first fill and refill sherry casks. It offers a traditional Speyside character.This is sweet and smoky with notes of rich fruit.

Deep, burnished amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany glow.
Nose
Sweet sherry on the nose mingles with ripe dark fruit—raisin, fig and plum—interwoven with a gentle smoke. A hint of caramelized sweetness and polished oak lingers underneath.
Palate
Opulent and balanced, this 21-year-old opens with honeyed sweetness and dark sherry fruit—figs and raisins—mingled with rich toffee. A gentle, restrained smoke threads through, joined by cocoa, vanilla and toasted almond. Velvet mouthfeel, polished oak, and a long, warming finish that lingers with spice and fruit.
Finish
Long, velvety finish with a gentle smoke that lingers beside rich dried fruit—ripe plum and fig, touched by cocoa and warm sherry spice. The sweetness stays, slowly fading to polished oak.
