Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep burnished amber with coppery gleam and a subtle mahogany edge.

Nose

Prosciutto and Serrano dominate, a smoked ham scent with cured Gouda. Subtle vegetal peat remains, with a whisper of burnt paper. Sweet sherry lends earthy, nutty fruit and a hint of mint, while wine-gummy fruits glimmer softly. An inviting, smoky aroma with refined depth.

Palate

Sweet and salty on the palate, with a touch of peppery spice. It begins watery with fruit sweetness, then broadens into a fuller, smokier profile with a hint of peat.

Finish

Ashy peat lingers, carried by a brisk, salt and pepper note. The finish sits dry and refined, leaving a mineral, smoke-kissed impression that fades gracefully.

(Le-Chig) Ledaig is the heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky made at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. The name means “safe haven” and was the original name used when John Sinclair founded the distillery in 1798, making it one of Scotland’s older surviving distilling sites.
