Tasting Notes

Nose

Warm, honeyed malt rises with orchard fruits and vanilla. Toasted barley and faint oak spice weave through dried figs and raisins, with a delicate almond undertone. A subtle sherry lift adds cocoa-brown sweetness, giving the aroma a refined, nutty elegance that invites the first sip.

Palate

Silky, medium-bodied on the palate, offering notes of rich dried fruit (raisins and figs) courted by toffee and vanilla. Sherry maturation lends dark chocolate, orange zest, and a gentle spice, with creamy malt and oak underpinning. A warm, lingering finish of fruitcake and spice.

Finish

A graceful, persistent finish of toasted walnut and dark chocolate, cushioned by red-fruit sweetness and a whisper of spice, with lingering sherry-cask warmth that slowly fades to elegant oak.

Glenturret
(glen-TURRET) Glenturret traces its recorded history to 1763, when a rental document referred to Thurot Distillery, the earliest known name for the site. In 1814, the distillery was sold to Thomas MacInnes, who renamed it The Hosh Distillery, and the Glenturret name was introduced in 1873. Its history was not uninterrupted: production stopped in 1923 during the difficult years that followed Prohibition and the wider downturn in Scotch, before James Fairlie bought and revived the distillery in 1957 after more than 30 silent years.
