In stock
Peated Glenturret, independently bottled by The Single Cask. While the standard Glenturret expressions do have a subtle smoke influence, the whiskies released by the distillery under the name Ruadh Maor are fully peated when it comes to smoke. This one was matured in a sherry hogshead for 8 years, from December 2009 to May 2018, and was bottled with an outturn of 171 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with ruby-tinged mahogany edges, a warm, glowing hue that hints at sherry richness.
Nose
Powerful peat smoke envelops a sherry-fueled sweetness: red-berry and dark fig lift through cocoa, toffee and dark chocolate. Vanilla and spice from oak mingle with cinnamon and clove, while toasted almond adds depth. A coastal brightness underpins the aroma, yielding a bold, velvety nose that's smoky, fruity and richly spiced.
Palate
Fully peated Glenturret on the palate, a bold, resinous smoke braided with sherry sweetness. Dried fruit, fig and raisin meet cocoa and orange zest, while oak delivers toasted spice. At 59.5%, a warming peppery spine carries clove and leather, finishing long, smoky, and luxuriously drying.
Finish
Long, peated finish coats the palate in smoky warmth, with enduring sherry sweetness. Dried fruit, cocoa and spice mingle before a silky oak-vanilla glow lingers, slowly fading into a quiet, ember-like finish.
