Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a copper-bronze glow and a tawny mahogany edge.
Nose
Aromas unfold with polished oak and honeyed sweetness, then a cloak of dried fruit—fig, date, and raisin—intertwined with orange zest and a touch of spice. Madeira influence wanders through with toffee, almond, and cocoa nibs, lending a walnutty richness. Subtle vanilla and sherry-like depth linger, inviting a refined, aging elegance typical of a 26-year Highland single malt.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, the palate unfolds with dark fig and raisin, sliced apricot, and citrus zest cloaked in Madeira’s toffee-like sweetness. Rich oak delivers baking spices—cinnamon, clove—alongside walnut and cacao. At 50% ABV the heat is integrated, yielding a long, balanced finish of dried fruit, subtle acidity, and refined nuttiness.
Finish
Madeira-cask finish delivers a lush, lingering sweetness—raisin, fig and dried apricot—framed by toasted almond and spice. The warmth lingers, fading to cocoa, orange zest, and a gentle oak echo on the palate.
