Glendronach Oloroso Sherry Casks Whisky 33 Year Old · 1971 Vintage
Out of stock
A really really fabulous dram, in fact this may be one of the very best Glendronach's ever (so far) and easily on par with any of the Single Cask releases, but unfortunately a very limited edition bottling which is now pretty much unavailable. Jim Murray also scored this 95 out of 100 in his Whisky Bible.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a coppery, sunlit glow.
Nose
Opulent and velvety, this nose unfurls with lush dried fruit—raisin, fig and date—woven with orange zest and dark chocolate. A rich mantle of oloroso sherry wraps toasted oak, toffee and caramel, while whispers of leather, cigar box and spice add depth, finishing in a refined, enduring sweetness that hints at decades in the cask.
Palate
Silky and opulent, the palate delivers a flood of dried fruit—fig, date and raisin—veiled in dark treacle and chocolate. Orange peel zest and warm spices dance with velvety oak, while a gentle, nutty toffee sweetness lingers. A refined, long finish of spice, tobacco and polished sherried richness.
Finish
Long, velvet finish, richly sherried and deeply sweet. Dried figs and dates unfurl into dark chocolate and coffee, while toasted oak, leather and a hint of spice—cinnamon and clove—linger, warming the palate into a refined, enduring finale.
