Edradour 2006 Super Tuscan was matured in hogsheads whisch had previously had Supertuscan wine ( A Super Tuscan wine is one produced in Tuscany and does not adhere to the traditional local DOC(G) regulations).. Aged for 9 years, this was bottled in April 2015.
There have been a few noticeable bottlings of whisky matured in Super Tuscan wine casks as of late. Edradour have released this heavy bodied dram using their vast experience of wine cask maturation to bring something different to the trend.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich deep amber with copper-gold sheen and hints of mahogany.
Nose
Dusty on the nose, with woody, leathery notes and a subtle medicinal whisper, evoking aged leather and rustic oak.
Palate
Woody notes and deep red fruit underpin a heavy, oily mouthfeel with a briny, salty undertone that lingers.
Finish
Long and warming, the finish coats the palate with toasted oak and dried red fruit, a fat, oily feel lingering. A persistent briny, saline undertone persists, fading gradually to a soft, wood-driven warmth.
