Tasting Notes
Colour
Dark, gleaming amber with coppery highlights and a touch of mahogany, a sunlit caramel glow that hints at decades in cask.
Nose
Elegant, time-worn bouquet of polished oak and honeyed grain, with dried fig and raisin, toffee-caramel and citrus zest. Vanilla and spice weave through leather and a whisper of smoke, with deep, dark fruit hints, all echoing decades of patient maturation across these 40-year malts.
Palate
Silky and deeply layered, the palate opens with honeyed orchard fruit, dried fig and raisin, touched by orange zest. Rich cacao, toffee, and spice drift through polished oak, never heavy but impeccably balanced. A long, refined finish of leather, tobacco, and subtle sweetness lingers with warm polish.
Finish
An extended, graceful finish that lingers with refined oak, honey, and a whisper of dark fruit. Vanilla warmth gives way to subtle spice and malt, deepened by a coastal hint, and slowly fades into a warm, contemplative glow that invites another sip.
