Bunnahabhain Toiteach Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Out of stock
Featured in the 1001 whiskies you must try before you die book.
A more heavily peated version of the self styled un-islay esque Bunnahabhain distillery, Toiteach meaning smoky in scots gaelic is a darker, richer and and smokier version of this North Islay based distillery and very different to the 12 year old.
More in common with the rest of Islay's malts than its own official bottles at 12 & 18 years old and well worth seeking out if you ever wanted more peat to your Bunna!

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-bronze highlights and mahogany undertones, a burnished, smoky glow.
Nose
Smoked gristy porridge and damp hay lofts rise with a whiff of old bonfire embers, mingling maritime brine with subtle Cullen Skink notes. Smoked toffee lingers, edged by briny, oily hints and a touch of grapefruit freshness.
Palate
Smoked walnut whips and spicy oatmeal anchor the palate, with peppery smoked toffee and chewy date-like fruit weaving through a core of smoked butter. Honey-roasted cashews add sweetness, while wisps of smoked mocha linger, delivering a warm, richly peaty finish.
Finish
A long, malt-forward finish of smoked dates and peat embers, with toffee tucked in brine, peppery oatmeal and a final note of earthy chocolate.
