The distillery opened in 2019, with its first single malt released in 2022. Lagg uses water from its own borehole, barley, yeast and peat from Aberdeenshire, with the distillery’s character built around aromatic smoke, earthy peat, malt sweetness and a softer coastal edge.
Lagg’s core releases include Kilmory Edition, matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, and Corriecravie Edition, which adds a richer sherry-cask influence. Bottlings are generally presented without chill-filtration or added colour, keeping the focus on modern peated Arran whisky with a balance of smoke, fruit, spice and cask character.
