About Green Spot
Green Spot is a single pot still Irish whiskey produced at Midleton Distillery in County Cork for Mitchell & Son, the Dublin wine merchant and whiskey bonder. Its roots go back to Mitchell & Son’s bonded whiskey trade, with the Spot name coming from the family’s old practice of marking maturing casks with coloured paint to indicate age.
Green Spot is matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, giving it a classic Irish pot still profile of orchard fruit, creamy malt, spice, toasted oak and soft sweetness. It remains the best-known whiskey in the Spot family, alongside Yellow Spot, Red Spot, Blue Spot and Gold Spot.
