About Dewar's
Dewar’s is a blended Scotch whisky founded in Perth in 1846 by John Dewar, who began as a wine and spirits merchant before building one of Scotland’s best-known whisky names. The business grew strongly under his sons, John Alexander Dewar and Tommy Dewar, with Tommy’s international travels helping take Dewar’s into export markets during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Now owned by Bacardi, Dewar’s remains centred on blended Scotch whisky, with Aberfeldy Distillery playing an important role in its malt whisky supply since 1898. Dewar’s White Label, first blended in 1899, sits at the heart of the range, while 12 Year Old, 15 Year Old, 18 Year Old and Double Double releases show the brand’s focus on marrying and further ageing blended whisky for a smoother, more rounded style.
