Colour

Luxuriously deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany glow.

Nose

Soft, aromatic Sherry leads the nose, with orchard blossoms and gentle herbal notes. Old-fashioned boiled sweets—pear drops and kola kubes—sit alongside a milk chocolate bar studded with fruit and nuts, all enveloped by sweet toasted oak.

Palate

Elegant mouthfeel with rich fruits—stewed plums and red apples—carried by dark honey sweetness. Spicy oak dryness offsets the sweetness, delivering balance, while a hint of leather gradually emerges on the palate.

Finish

Sweetness intensifies into a long, generous finish, with German Christmas Gingerbread spice blending seamlessly with creamy vanilla for a smooth, balanced close.

Black Bull
Black Bull was first registered in 1864 by Dundee grocer and whisky blender George Willsher. At a time when many blended Scotch whiskies were moving towards lighter styles, Black Bull was built around a higher-strength, malt-rich recipe, traditionally using a 50:50 balance of malt and grain whisky. The brand is now owned by Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, the independent bottler founded in Glasgow in 1938 and now based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire.
