Alistair Cunningham's 50 Years Blended Scotch Whisky
Out of stock
Alistair Cunningham was a former MD of Allied Distillers. These limited edition bottles were specially commissioned for his retirement after 50 years in the industry and were a blend of 50 different malt and grain whiskys. They were only available as gifts to Allied's staff and friends of Mr Cunningham. Sadly he passed away in July 2010 aged 84.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Velvet deep amber-gold with copper highlights and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Opulent, mahogany-rich nose of dark fruits—fig, raisin and cherry—woven with aged sherry. Velvety toffee, roasted almond, orange zest and a kiss of cocoa, backed by oak, leather and spice.
Palate
Silky and substantial, this 50-year blend coats the palate with a velvet, sherry-kissed sweetness. Rich dried fig and raisin mingle with dark cocoa, toffee and a whisper of espresso, while polished oak and gentle spice frame the center. The finish is long and refined, with almonds, clove and a final warming gloss that lingers in elegant harmony.
Finish
An enduring, sherry-soft finish coats the palate with warm, ruby sweetness. Dried fruits—raisins and figs—mingle with cocoa, toasted almond and spice, as oak ebbs into a long, graceful fade of cinnamon and orange zest.
