Against The Grain Borratolls Whisky 12 Year Old · 1996 Vintage
Out of stock
An interesting single cask whisky that was produced for Oddbins as part of their 'Against the Grain' series. Distilled in 1996 and bottled under the name Borratollis, to protect the identity of the distillery in question, likely to be Caol Ila, in 2008. This was matured in a single refill sherry hogshead and is one of just 376 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and coppery highlights, a warm, burnished hue.
Nose
Enticing sherry-draped nose with dark fruit richness—raisins, dried fig and stewed plum—touched by toffee and toasted oak. Coastal hints of sea spray and iodine weave through, with a whisper of smoke, almond, and spice curling through the aroma.
Palate
Silky, with a soft coastal smoke and sherry-soaked richness, this grain whisky coats the palate. Dried fig and raisin mingle with orange zest, cocoa and toffee, while nutmeg and clove spice weave through velvety oak. Long, balanced finish with a saline lift and lingering caramelized fruit.
Finish
Long, velvety finish with warm sherry sweetness lingering, dried figs, cocoa, and gentle spice, a whisper of smoke and sea air, all wrapped in refined oak and lingering warmth.
