Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a warm mahogany glow, inviting and luminous in the glass.

Nose

Creamy butter and vanilla rise, braided with caramel and toasted oak. Subtle spice, cinnamon and clove, wafts through the richness, with a whisper of citrus zest. The 12-year maturation in charred American oak lends a refined, luxurious nose that promises depth to follow.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied and buttery, it coats the palate with vanilla, caramel and rich toffee. Oak-spice emerges—cinnamon, nutmeg, a touch of clove—balanced by velvety tannins and warmth. The finish is long and luxurious, leaving buttered sweetness with a subtle, peppery lift.

Finish

A long, luxurious finish envelops the palate with buttery vanilla and caramel, unveiling toasted oak and a gentle spice. Velvety and persistent, it lingers with toffee, baking spice, and warm wood, finally fading to a soft, peppery kiss.

Willett's
Willett was founded in Bardstown in 1936 by A. L. “Thompson” Willett, but the family’s whiskey history goes back much earlier. John David Willett was already working as a Kentucky distiller in the 19th century, and after Prohibition the family built the present distillery on its Nelson County farm. The first barrel was rolled into Warehouse A on St Patrick’s Day in 1937.
