A 10 year old Bourbon from Widow Jane in Brooklyn, New York which is made with a core of Wapsie Valley corn. Every bottle is drawn from a Single Barrel, so alongside its core flavour profile, each one will have unique elements coming through.

Cut to 91 proof with natural limestone-filtered "sweet" water from the Widow Jane mine in upstate Rosendale, New York.

Non-chill filtered.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Bright cherry-drop sweetness opens to brown toast laced with clove honey, followed by ribbons of butterscotch and hot fudge. A touch of rum-soaked raisins lingers, with cool menthol and caramel-vanilla warmth tying the aroma together.

Palate

Very black cherry led opening with juicy rum soaked raisins and brown sugar. Aromatic and spicy oak with hints of mint and breakfast pancakes with syrup.

Finish

Cherry jam on rye toast, menthol, dark chocolate, sandalwood and clove.

Widow Jane
Widow Jane was founded in 2012 in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and takes its name from the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, New York. The distillery was built around giving American whiskey a distinctly New York identity, with blending, proofing and bottling centred in Brooklyn rather than in a more traditional bourbon setting. A big part of that identity is the limestone mineral water brought down from the Rosendale mines, around 100 miles north of the distillery, which Widow Jane uses to proof its whiskeys.
