Distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2019, this 27-year-old Panama rum was released as part of the Plantation Exclusive Selection Single Cask series by Maison Ferrand. Produced at Alcoholes del Istmo Distillery, the rum was crafted from molasses and distilled using a column still before undergoing an extended and carefully managed maturation.
The rum spent around 25 years ageing in ex-bourbon casks in the tropical climate of Panama, allowing the spirit to develop significant depth and oak influence. It was then transported to France for continental maturation in Ferrand cognac casks, before receiving a final finishing period in a Teeling Irish whiskey cask, adding an additional layer of complexity. Bottled from single cask #11 at 51.1% ABV, this long-aged release showcases the distinctive style of mature Panamanian rum.

Tasting Notes
Nose
At first fruity notes of orange, blackberry and apple with spicy and malty notes. It then evolves on grass and chocolate.
Palate
Full, similar to the nose, but on a spicier profile of cloves followed by cinnamon with apricot, vanilla and lemon.
