Pappy Van Winkle 2016 Family Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 23 Year Old

Pappy Van Winkle takes its name from Julian P. “Pappy” Van Winkle Sr., whose bourbon story began in the late 19th century with W.L. Weller & Sons in Louisville. He later partnered in the creation of Stitzel-Weller Distillery in 1935, helping establish the wheated bourbon style that still defines the Van Winkle range. The family’s modern chapter took another important turn in 2002, when Old Rip Van Winkle entered its long-running partnership with Buffalo Trace, where the Van Winkle bourbons have since been produced to the family’s recipe.
