Wild Turkey 101 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Old Bottling) 8 Year Old
In stock
This is Wild Turkey from the 1980s, the era that made its legend: unapologetically bold, beautifully aged, and absolutely unconcerned with being polite. It’s muscular without being rough, complex without being fussy. Compared to modern releases, it feels deeper, more oak-driven, and unmistakably old-school—bourbon made for people who like their whiskey to taste like whiskey.
A benchmark bottle, and a reminder of why Wild Turkey earned its reputation in the first place. If you’re into heritage bourbon, this is the good stuff.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a mahogany edge, a warm, sunlit glow that hints at oak and age.
Nose
Immediate and confident. Deep caramel and dark honey lead the charge, followed by dusty oak, old rickhouse funk, and toasted pecans. A distinctly vintage note—leather-bound books, pipe tobacco, and a faint whiff of dried orange peel. Rye spice appears early, yet rounded and integrated, not sharp.
Palate
Rich and mouth-coating from the first sip, it layers brown sugar and vanilla bean with baked apple, then unveils robust oak and classic Wild Turkey spice—cinnamon, clove, and black pepper. The 50.5% ABV carries the flavors, amplifying them without heat. A savory undercurrent of roasted nuts, gentle char, and a hint of cocoa keeps it grounded.
Finish
Long, warm, and thoroughly satisfying, the finish lingers with oak and sweet corn, edged by baking spices. A whisper of tobacco dryness emerges at the very end, a nod to years spent aging in the barrel as the warmth softens into a refined, lingering fade.
