Exceptionally Aged 15 is the result of generations of craftsmanship and careful stewardship. Former Master Blender Jerry Edwards first distilled the rums on a single column still and laid them down to mature in ex-American oak Bourbon casks. The legacy was continued by former Master Blender Allen Smith (2010–2019) and current Master Blender Trudiann Branker, who in 2025 brought the blend to life as a refined expression of a 15-year-old Mount Gay rum.

Aged for a minimum of 15 years in Barbados’ tropical climate, Mount Gay Exceptionally Aged 15 is bottled at 43% ABV and non-chill filtered. The nose reveals grapefruit, buttery pastry, banana, vanilla, plum, caramel, and a hint of cinnamon. The palate delivers butterscotch, vanilla, caramel, orange zest, and cocoa nibs, balanced by notes of red plum, citrus, red grapes, and a subtle touch of sea salt, leading to a smooth, rounded finish.

Its home is in St Lucy, in the north of Barbados, with the estate later taking the Mount Gay name in honour of Sir John Gay Alleyne, who helped manage the plantation in the 18th century.
