This spirit came about by a happy accident; a very small amount of 3 year old grain was blended with a very well known, heavily peated 18 year old Island single malt. The malt has been aged for 16 years in refill bourbon & hogsheads, and then finished for 2 years in sherry casks. So it’s 99% 18 YO malt and 1% 3 YO grain, hence "99&1".
Expect notes of seaweed and creosote mingled with dried orange and sea salt. This is layered with tobacco infused liquorice and white pepper - it’s a truly phenomenal dram.

Deep burnished copper with rich amber-gold highlights and subtle mahogany undertones.
Nose
Seaweed and creosote rise from a briny sea-salt breeze, while dried orange lends a citrus glow. Tobacco-infused liquorice and white pepper weave through a peaty, maritime tapestry.
Palate
On the palate, maritime peat asserts itself with seaweed and creosote mingling with dried orange and sea salt. A tobacco-infused liquorice sweetness threads through, punctuated by white pepper and a long, smoky finish.
Finish
Maritime peat threads through a coastal finish of seaweed, creosote and sea salt, brightened by dried orange. Tobacco-infused liquorice and white pepper mark the fade, while a sherry-warmed edge lingers, leaving a polished, mineral echo on the palate.
