Tasting Notes

Nose

Garden mint and dark rye bread form the core, bright cola cubes lending lift, and a sweet maple syrup glaze on ham; a generous hint of Mississippi mud pie lingers at the edge.

Palate

Thick and chewy with mint choc chip ice cream, menthol, lime cordial, toasted rye bread, clove and nutmeg.

Finish

Mint cake, chocolate, dark rye bread, aromatic spices and herbal/menthol notes.

Knob Creek was created in 1992 by Booker Noe as part of Jim Beam’s Small Batch Bourbon Collection, at a time when bourbon was still largely associated with lighter, lower-proof styles. The brand was inspired by the Bottled-in-Bond Act and by pre-Prohibition whiskey, with the aim of bringing back a fuller, older, higher-proof style of bourbon.
