San Fransisco Wold Spirits Competition - Small Batch Bourbon – Up to 5 Years - Silver Medal 2019
Kings County Barrel-Strength Straight Bourbon is aged in five-gallon, charred American oak barrels upstairs at the Kings County distillery, which provides direct exposure to sunlight and encourages maximum interaction between the whiskey and the wood.
This special barrel-strength bottling has been taken from some of the oldest barrels at the distillery (aged between two and four years) and is bottled at a robust 126 proof — one of the highest proofs of any American craft whiskey.
“Of all the craft distillers in the nation, none makes bourbon more delicious than Kings County” Wine and Spirits Magazine 2015.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a nuanced mahogany glow; a warm, sunlit sheen suggesting rich oak interaction.
Nose
Sun-warmed oak envelops the nose, releasing lush vanilla, caramel and toasted toffee. Rich brown sugar and maple mingle with charred-grain sweetness, while baking spices—cinnamon, clove—and a touch of black pepper add depth. A hint of dried fruit and a whisper of leather linger, signaling the barrel-strength, bold, generous character inside.
Palate
Powerful, full-bodied and warming, this barrel-strength bourbon coats the palate with a thick, oily mouthfeel. Rich vanilla and caramel fuse with charred oak, cocoa and dried fruit, while bold baking spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—accent the lift of peppery heat. The finish is long and warming, oak-driven with a touch of sweetness lingering.
Finish
Very long, warming finish dominated by charred oak, vanilla and caramel, with a spirited peppery bite from the high proof. Oak lingers into toasted sweetness, leaving a lasting, comforting warmth that softly coats the palate.
