A limited experimental release from Johnnie Walker’s Blenders’ Batch series, this Red Rye Finish EXP #1 was bottled in 2016 at 40% ABV. Matured initially in bourbon casks before receiving a secondary maturation in red rye casks, it was created to explore new flavour directions within the blended Scotch category.
Developed by the blending team as part of a small-scale innovation range, this edition introduces a spicier, more contemporary edge to the Johnnie Walker style. The red rye cask finishing brings added warmth and aromatic spice to the blend while maintaining the brand’s signature balance and smoothness.

Silky, medium-bodied palate with creamy vanilla and toffee underpinning a warm red-rye spice core. Cinnamon and clove mingle with black pepper, while subtle dried fruit and oak add depth. The finish is long and balanced, with rye warmth lingering alongside smooth sweetness and graceful spice.
