Gusbourne Brut Reserve English Sparkling Wine (Gift Box) 2022 Vintage

An early budburst on 28 March marked the beginning of a slightly earlier than average growing season. Frost presented no significant problems, although several cold nights kept the vineyard team on watch. Steady warmth and dry weather followed through flowering, allowing anthesis to progress evenly across all sites and varieties within three weeks.

Warm, dry conditions continued from May until veraison in August, with mature root systems helping the vines maintain a steady supply of water and remain in excellent nutritional condition. Rain arriving from mid-August refreshed the vineyards ahead of harvest, which began in mid-September and concluded in early October.

The resulting wine is particularly well suited to food, pairing beautifully with seafood and fresh, delicate dishes. Try it with mussels in a creamy sauce, charred mackerel with potato and golden beetroot salad, or ricotta ravioli finished with lemon butter.
