First released more than 175 years ago by our founders, the original Glenmorangie 10 year old was known for its mellow tones and delicacy of flavour.
To give Original a delicious, go-anywhere finesse, Glenmorangie make it in their giraffe-high stills, then they age it 10 years in bourbon casks to absorb all manner of delectable flavours.
The result is a smooth whisky which welcomes you with a rush of citrus, then holds your attention with layers of luscious flavour, from orange to honey and creamy vanilla, with bursts of peach.
Very easy to be snobby about such a widely available and popular single malt like this but do you know what, this is a great everyday dram.

Colour
Pale gold with a delicate honey-amber glow; bright, sunlit and inviting, with a refined, glassy shine.
Nose
Fresh barley fields, almond sweetness and orange fondant mingle with homemade lemonade, while green apple lifts the aroma, dusted with a whisper of floral spice.
Palate
Creamy oak supports bright orange notes, with toasted vanilla and almond sponge cake mingling with boiled sweets. Grassy barley adds a rustic bend, while a touch of cocoa threads through, finishing on malty lemon with a clean, lingering sweetness.
Finish
Cream soda and lemon curd open the finish, carried by marzipan and orange mousse, with toasted barley and vanilla lingering in a creamy, softly nutty fade.
