A Japanese contemporary artist known for his vibrant, anime-inspired paintings, sculptures, and commercial collaborations. He bridges the gap between high art and popular culture, blurring the lines between fine art, commercial design, and Japanese artistic traditions.

His work often features recurring motifs like smiling flowers, mushrooms, and Mr. Dob, exploring themes of consumerism, globalization, and the post-war Japanese experience. The new Andy Warhol of his time that he deeply admires. Precursor of “super-flat” (2000): 2-dimensional imagery inspired by Japanese art , also in manga and anime.
