Smooth Ambler is an American whiskey producer founded in 2009 in the Greenbrier Valley of West Virginia. The distillery combines Appalachian craftsmanship, locally available natural resources and modern distilling equipment to produce bourbon and rye whiskey. Its range clearly distinguishes between whiskey distilled and matured in West Virginia, carefully selected sourced whiskey and expressions that combine spirit from both approaches.
Smooth Ambler Old Scout features sourced American bourbon and rye whiskey selected for its quality and character, while Contradiction brings together straight whiskeys with contrasting mash bills and flavour profiles. The Founders’ Cask Strength Series showcases bourbon and rye produced at the West Virginia distillery and bottled at natural strength. Pernod Ricard acquired a majority share in Smooth Ambler in 2017, supporting its growth while maintaining the company’s connection to West Virginia whiskey production.
