About Cutty Sark
Cutty Sark is a blended Scotch whisky created in London in 1923 by Berry Bros. & Rudd. It was developed as a lighter, fresher style of Scotch at a time when richer blends were more common, with the name taken from the famous Cutty Sark clipper ship. The distinctive yellow label and tall ship design have helped make it one of the most recognisable blended Scotch whisky brands.
Now owned by La Martiniquaise-Bardinet, Cutty Sark remains centred on approachable blended Scotch whisky made from malt and grain whiskies. Cutty Sark Original is the core expression, known for its lighter colour and easy-drinking style, with soft malt, vanilla, citrus, gentle spice and grain sweetness. The wider range has included older and limited expressions such as Cutty Sark Prohibition and 17 Year Old, giving the brand a broader place within classic Scotch whisky blends.
