Colour
Rich copper-gold with a wine-kissed amber core and a mahogany-tinged edge.
Nose
Intense peat smoke surrounds a wine-kissed bouquet of blackcurrant and plum, with hints of cherry and red berry. Espresso, vanilla and cocoa mingle with maritime salt and iodine, while leather and oak spice echo from the Saint-Julien Bordeaux cask influence.
Palate
Peat-forward and maritime, this opens with smoke and iodine, then folds in Bordeaux-red fruit from the Saint-Julien casks—ripe cherry, plum, and blackberry—plush with vanilla and cocoa. The wine finish adds velvet tannins and a spicy warmth, leaving a long, savoury core of peat, pepper and tobacco on the palate.
Finish
An enduring, smoky finish where peat lingers beside Bordeaux-red fruit—raspberry and plum—with dark chocolate, vanilla and spice, finished by a peppery, tannic warmth that slowly fades to a refined, long afterglow.
