Martell
Martell was founded in 1715 by Jean Martell, a merchant from Jersey who settled in Cognac at the age of 21, and it is widely presented as the oldest of the great cognac houses. Exports to England and Northern Europe began in the 18th century, later reaching India in 1781 and North America in 1783, helping establish Martell as one of the earliest truly international names in Cognac.
