Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery undertones and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Opulent, refined aroma with aged sherry at the core: dark figs, raisins and dried berries, entwined with rich toffee, cacao and vanilla. Layered oak and cedar give polish, while leather, tobacco and a subtle spice note—nutmeg with a hint of ginger—add depth. A whisper of maritime air and smoke threads through, signaling the rare ghost distilleries in its lineage.
Palate
Silky and richly weighted on the palate, this 48-year-old blend unfurls with figs, dried plums and dark caramel, layered with cocoa nibs and notes of toffee. Spices skim the edges—cinnamon and nutmeg—while a whisper of coastal smoke and oak tannins provide refined structure. The finish is long, dignified, and subtly maritime, leaving polished sweetness and intricate warmth.
Finish
An exceptionally long finish that unfolds with perfumed spices and dried fruit, evolving into cocoa, leather and sherry-soaked oak. The warmth lingers, lightly smoky and nutty, with a refined sweetness that tapers to a delicate, luxurious tail on the palate.
