Jack Daniel's Mr Jack's 160th Birthday Limited Edition Whiskey

Released 2010
For Jack’s 160th birthday in 2010, the Distillery took the commonly used Heritage bottle, and with a few modifications, made a bottle unlike any before it. No longer clear glass, this bottle was painted black by Chattanooga Labeling Systems. The idea came from Michael Osborne Design, which also devised the black label for the bottle and the box in which it came. While the 750ml size is quite common, the 1 litre version of this bottle was only released in a limited number of states.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Jet-black, glossy and opaque—a striking midnight bottle hinting at a bold, celebratory whiskey inside.
Nose
Warm vanilla and caramel lead the nose, layered with honeyed sweetness and toasted oak. Brown sugar and ripe pear drift through, with a gentle kiss of spice—cinnamon and clove—balancing a whisper of charcoal mellowness that speaks to a smooth Tennessee character.
Palate
Silky, medium-bodied with toffee-vanilla sweetness and caramelized corn. Toasted oak adds warmth, while a whisper of citrus zest and gentle spice lingers on the palate. The finish is smooth and clean, modestly long, with lingering vanilla and a soft, charred-oak echo.
Finish
Long, warm finish that layers vanilla and caramel sweetness over toasted oak, with a hint of spice. Silky and balanced, it lingers softly, gradually fading into a warm, amber glow.
