Barrel house 1 is one of the oldest warehouses at the Distillery. Built as one of the first post-Prohibition warehouses and located on a tall hill overlooking the Distillery grounds, its seven-story design was found to be the ideal elevation for ageing of whiskey.
This 750ml bottle, released in 1994, commemorates the heritage of Barrel house 1. And due to changes in Tennessee law, it was the first bottle of Jack Daniel’s to be legally sold at the Distillery (and in Lynchburg) since 1909. This bottle also features the original specially made wooden presentation box.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold reflections and a warm mahogany edge.
Nose
Opulent vanilla and caramel lead, woven with toasted oak and brown sugar. Maple, toffee and dried apricot notes unfold, while a touch of cocoa and leather adds depth. A gentle wisp of charcoal smoke and a citrus zest lift the aroma, giving a warm, refined bouquet.
Palate
Silky and full on the palate, with layers of vanilla, caramel toffee, and toasted oak. Rich brown sugar and cocoa mingle with a gentle spice—cinnamon and clove—hinting at a subtle charcoal smoke. The sweetness lingers, tempered by warm oak and a measured peppery lift to a refined, lasting finish.
Finish
Long, velvety finish with toasted oak, vanilla and caramel sweetness. Subtle maple and almond linger, followed by a gentle spice and a warm, char-kissed fade that dissolves into dark chocolate.
