About The Gauldrons
The Gauldrons is Douglas Laing’s Campbeltown blended malt, created as part of its Remarkable Regional Malts series. Released in 2017, it completed the range by representing Campbeltown, one of Scotland’s smallest whisky regions and a place with a long distilling history. The name comes from the dark, stormy coves on the west coast of Kintyre near Machrihanish, where “The Gauldrons” is often translated as “Bay of Storms”.
Bottled at 46.2% ABV, The Gauldrons is made from a marriage of Campbeltown malts and is presented without colouring or chill-filtration. The style leans into the region’s coastal character, with a balance of sweet malt, sea air, gentle smoke and spice, giving Douglas Laing’s regional range a distinct Campbeltown expression.
