Templeton takes its name from the small town of Templeton, Iowa, where rye whiskey became closely tied to local Prohibition-era history. The modern whiskey brand was revived in 2006 by Keith Kerkhoff and Scott Bush, drawing on that local story while building Templeton into one of the better-known names in American rye.
