About Jim Beam
Jim Beam traces its roots to the late 18th century, when the Beam family settled in Kentucky and began distilling bourbon. A major turning point came in 1894, when James Beauregard “Jim” Beam took over the family business, and another followed after Prohibition, when he rebuilt the distillery in Clermont, Kentucky in 1933–35. The modern brand grew from that post-Prohibition revival, with T. Jeremiah Beam re-founding the business in 1935 as the Jim B. Beam Distilling Company and giving the bourbon the Jim Beam name.
Jim Beam is one of Kentucky’s most established bourbon whiskey names, with Beam family distilling roots dating back to 1795, when Jacob Beam sold his first barrel of whiskey. More than two centuries later, Jim Beam remains closely associated with traditional Kentucky bourbon, combining a corn-led mash bill with maturation in new charred oak barrels.
The Jim Beam range includes the classic White Label Kentucky Straight Bourbon, longer-aged expressions such as Jim Beam Black, single barrel bottlings, flavoured whiskeys and collectable limited editions. Its familiar combination of vanilla, caramel, oak and gentle spice makes Jim Beam suitable for drinking neat, over ice or in classic bourbon cocktails.
