Today, Inchfad is mainly used internally by Loch Lomond to identify one of the many spirit styles made at its highly flexible distillery. Loch Lomond’s unusual setup, including different still types and the ability to produce both malt and grain whisky on one site, allows it to create a wide range of whisky profiles for blending and occasional independent bottlings. Inchfad sits at the heavier, smokier end of that spectrum, usually showing peat smoke, malt, soft fruit, spice and cask-driven sweetness.
