Production is kept on site, with mashing, fermentation, distillation, maturation and bottling all handled at the distillery. Cooper King’s whisky is made from English Maris Otter barley, floor-malted at Warminster Maltings, and distilled in a custom 900-litre copper pot still made in Tasmania. Its first casks were filled in 2019, with the distillery’s first mature whisky released in 2023.
Sustainability is a major part of the distillery’s identity. Cooper King has been powered by 100% renewable energy since distillation began, became the first distillery in Europe to join 1% for the Planet, and produced the first whisky in England distilled using net zero energy.
