About Baron De Sigognac
Baron de Sigognac is produced at Château de Bordeneuve in Bas-Armagnac, owned by the Guasch family, whose roots in Gascony are traced back to the 12th century. The family acquired Château de Bordeneuve in 1974, although Armagnac production at the estate itself goes back much further. Unlike many houses, Baron de Sigognac controls its own vineyards, distillation, ageing cellars and bottling, giving the brand a strong estate-led identity.
Production focuses on traditional Bas-Armagnac, using grape varieties such as Baco and Ugni Blanc, distilled in copper Armagnac column stills and aged in French oak. The old cellars, dating from 1840, are used for long maturation, with the range covering younger VS and VSOP expressions through to XO, older age-stated bottlings and a deep library of vintage Armagnacs.
