Winner of the Rum & Cachaca 2025 Taste Master – best rum in competition

Distilled from molasses by Cuban-rooted Oliver y Oliver, this 23-year-old rum aged 8 years in the Caribbean and 11 in the UK. Matured in bourbon and rum casks, it was bottled by House of Rum in 2023 at 55.5% ABV. The nose reveals sweet orange peel, cinnamon, and almonds. The palate is tangy and saline, reminiscent of amontillado sherry, with baking spices and black pepper. A long, nutty finish rounds out this complex spirit.
