A 1982 release
The state of Tennessee takes its name from the Native American word “Tenasqui” dating back to the year 1567…One of Tennessee’s nicknames is the “Volunteer State.” This title was first earned during the War of 1812 when thousands of brave Tennesseans volunteered to fight and would continue to show this spirit with each passing war… To pay tribute to Jack’s affection for the state and the friendly people that reside there, the Distillery released a 1.75 litre Tribute to Tennessee decanter in 1982 filled with 90 proof whiskey.
