Water plays an important role in the whiskey’s identity, with limestone-filtered spring water sourced from Sagamore Farm, a Maryland property historically associated with thoroughbred racing. The core rye is built around a blend of high-rye and low-rye mash bills, creating a balance of spice, sweetness and rounded grain character.
Illva Saronno, the Italian spirits group behind Disaronno, acquired a majority stake in Sagamore Spirit in 2023. The range includes Signature Rye, Cask Strength, Double Oak and finished expressions, with the focus remaining on Maryland-style rye whiskey and Baltimore-based production.
