The house is closely linked to its historic chalk cellars, or crayères, beneath Reims. These deep, cool cellars were first used by the Ruinart family in the 18th century and remain central to the ageing of its wines, with the chalk providing the stable conditions needed for long maturation.
Chardonnay plays a major role in Ruinart’s style, giving the wines their fresh, elegant and finely textured character. Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is one of its key expressions, while Dom Ruinart, first created from the 1959 vintage, sits at the top of the range as the house’s prestige cuvée.
