About Casa Dragones
Casa Dragones was founded in 2009 by Bertha González Nieves, the first female Maestra Tequilera certified by the Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila, and Robert W. Pittman, co-founder of MTV and Chairman & CEO of iHeartMedia. The name refers to Los Dragones de San Miguel de Allende, the cavalry linked to Mexico’s Independence Movement in 1810, with the brand’s home, La Casa Dragones, based in a 17th-century building in San Miguel de Allende once used as the Dragones’ stables.
Its agave comes from the Valley of Tequila in Jalisco, within the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, where volcanic soil and altitude shape the raw material. Casa Dragones works with 100% Blue Weber agave, natural spring water from aquifers connected to the Volcano of Tequila, and a modern small-batch production process recognised by the Tequila Regulatory Council for its efficiency and sustainability.
