There's a reason the combination of dandelion and burdock has been around since the Middle Ages, and this gin from Berkshire Botanical is further proof! Inspired by the flora surrounding the distillery, the eponymous star botanicals are infused into the gin. Wonderfully earthy with hints of sweetness.

Nose

Floral earthiness with vanilla and ginger, lifted by candied citrus. A subtle note of liquorice grounds a rooty, meadow‑fresh aroma that echoes dandelion and burdock’s historic sweetness.

Palate

Soft, earthy and elegant on the palate, with a satin texture. Floral dandelion and burdock mingle with warming vanilla and ginger, while candied citrus adds lift and a touch of liquorice lingers. A balanced, gently resinous finish that echoes the Berkshire botanicals.

Finish

Long, earthy finish that softly coats the palate; vanilla and ginger provide a gentle warmth, while lingering candied citrus and liquorice leave a sweet, herbal echo of dandelion and burdock.

Berkshire Botanical was launched in 2019 by Johnny Neill, founder of Whitley Neill Gin and Mary-Le-Bone Gin. Production is based on the 9,000-acre Yattendon Estate in West Berkshire, where the brand draws on the surrounding countryside for its identity and botanical inspiration. The range was first made on a small still at The Royal Oak pub in Yattendon before moving to a dedicated distillery on the estate in 2022.
