Fortified Wine

Fortified wine is a wine that has been strengthened by adding a distilled spirit (usually grape brandy) during or after fermentation. This process gives it a higher alcohol content and can create rich, complex flavours ranging from nutty and caramel-like to fruity and sweet. Popular examples include Port, Sherry, Madeira, and Marsala, which can be enjoyed on their own or paired with food.
