Whitley Neill was launched in 2005 by Johnny Neill, an eighth-generation distiller whose family heritage in gin dates back to 1762. A major change followed in 2009, when Halewood acquired the brand, and another came in 2021, when production moved to the City of London Distillery, which the brand describes as the first and still the only gin distillery in the City of London in 200 years.
