Moët & Chandon was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, at the heart of France’s Champagne region. Jean-Rémy Moët, Claude’s grandson, helped grow the house internationally, and the name became Moët & Chandon in 1833 when Pierre-Gabriel Chandon joined the family business.
